Day 13 : Vintage Photo on Wood

picture-on-woodLucky 13! This one is sweet. Photo on Wood to look weathered and vintage. I plan on doing an all black & white collage on one wall with different sizes.

The credit on this one goes to Squidoo.  I found the instructions on Pinterest post with a link to Squidoo, but the link is dead. So the exact instructions are as follows per the Squidoo Pinterest link.

You Need:

  • Pieces of wood
  • Any photo
  • Modge Podge (Satin)
  • Paint Brush
  • Black Paint
  • Sandpaper

Paint the edges of the wood black. Let dry.

Paint the wood with modge podge, then stick the photo on.

Stick the photo on the wood with modge podge. Let Dry.

Rough up the edges with sandpaper to look vintage.

Paint over the photo with the modge podge.  Let dry.

Put eye hooks on the back and string with a ribbon or wire.

Tips:

The thinner the paper the more it catches air bubbles and wrinkles. I used Canon ultra thick paper and it didn’t wrinkle at all.
