Day 26 : Multiplicity Photo

multiplicity-webIf you do art or take photos then I’m sure you’ve seen this trick by now, but if not… multiplicity is amazing. You have to try it. It’s so simple and the tutorial is very clear and concise.

This is brought to you by the talented Photo Extremist (click for full tutorial).

I had seen this done by the pros and was amazed at how easy I was able to accomplish the effect. Multiplicity photos are definitely a keeper.
Here is what I made with the Extremist’s wonderful tut. Enjoy!

What You Need:

  • Photoshop or equivalent
  • Camera
  • Tripod
  • A willing subject or use yourself

So what is Multiplicity? It’s when you have one or in my cases below, two subjects that stand in different locations in the same photo. It gives the effect of many people in the shot. My example below shows my sister with many of the same guy (her husbands).

Here I have my TWO kids in many different locations on the playset. It looks like there’s ten kids.
