When I think about creating a collection, it tends to have a hidden feeling or meaning behind it, intentionally. Some, like this, may have a cute or more commercial look but the origin is usually inspired by someone or something special to me. That way, when I see it out in the world it brings back the original special feeling.
The focus of the Collection:
This collection is tailored towards children’s wear and babies. This collection is truly from my heart.
I included various Easter eggs including:
#1 The actual quartz on which the entire collection is based (A piece from a large crystal my brother dug up).
#2 The heart of the ocean (from Titanic, a precious movie to me).
#3 It includes all of the birthstones for my family members and children.
#4 Different stones that hold memories for me.
#5 The “Rock Collection”, print is a loose representation of my son’s rock box. It originally started out with random stones scattered in the squares, but with the help of @bonniechristine I was able to fine-tune it into a more cohesive print without repeating the same idea too frequently.
#6 It features a collab called “Tie-Dye Collab” so that I may sneak in my passion for making tie-dye. – It was interesting recreating it as a vector and figuring out the exact process. The tie-dye is in vector format and in raster (the rasterized version is more realistic but can not be recolored as easily [see below right image]).

Lastly, there are cute handwritten quotes that pertain to the similarity of gemstones and children that can be pulled out as motifs and more. 😉

And now… for some mockups: These were in the process (some of the first attempts at the collection) so the colors and prints are a bit crazy. But that’s the great part… since the collection is vectorized it can be any color. It has since been updated to the final prints below.
